Peter Thiers, born in 1991, studied Dramaturgy at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig and the Hamburg University of Music and Drama. He received the Kleist Prize for Young Playwrights in 2019 for his drama Warten auf Sturm. His play Paradiesische Bauten, which was awarded the Hamburger Literaturpreis (Hamburg Literature Prize) in 2020, premiered during the 2020/2021 season at the Thalia Theater Hamburg under his own direction. In 2021, he was a finalist in the 29th open mike competition, and in 2023 he was a fellow of the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. His current play Zähne und Krallen has premiered at several German-language theatres. Peter Thiers works as an author, director and moderator and lives in Hamburg.
