Leonie Jenning was born in Berlin in 1997. She studied Philosophy at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Dramaturgy at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. From 2011 to 2021, she was a member of P14, the youth theater ensemble of the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, working as both actress and director, an experience that continues to influence her interdisciplinary work today:
With Martha Mechow, she developed the productions Letzter Stand: allos autos (2021/22) and StEcHeN uNd stErBen (2022/23) at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, and ZUNGEN BRECHEN at Theater Magdeburg (2022/23).
With Anaïs Urban, she co-produces the talk show format BONUSMATERIAL, presented several times a year in the Roter Salon at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, a hybrid of discourse and performance.
Leonie Jenning currently works as a dramaturg at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz while maintaining a freelance practice as a director, author and performer.
