Saerom Park

Saerom Park was born in 1981 into a family of artists in Korea. She began learning the cello at the age of twelve, and in 1996 made her debut as a soloist with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. Between 1999 and 2008 she studied cello and chamber music at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen under Young-Chang Cho and Andreas Reiner, also receiving tutoring from renowned names such as Bernhard Greenhouse and Boris Pergamenschikov. In 2000 she founded the piano trio “Trio Image”, of which she remained an active member until 2007. The trio won 3rd prize and the audience prize at the 6th international chamber music competition “Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne” in Graz. Saerom has appeared at various festivals including the Lockenhaus Kammermusikfest, Pablo Casals Festival Prades, Schubertiade Akzenbrugg, International Cello Fest Beograd, International Week Graz, Festival de musique de chambre en Normandie and International Music Festival Varna Summer. Recordings of Saerom Park's concerts have appeared on WDR 3, ORF, Mezzo and TV3. She has been a member of Ensemble Resonanz since 2008.
