Lucia Ronchetti

Born in 1963 in Rome, Italian composer Lucia Ronchetti studied composition and computer music in her hometown as well as in Paris. She also attended computer music courses at IRCAM and did her PhD in musicology. Her compository work stretches from music theatre works and colourful orchestral works through sensual virtuoso vocal works to chamber music with live electronics. The composer, who has received countless prizes, was a visiting scholar (Fulbright Fellow) at New York’s Columbia University in 2005, and in 2005/06 was composer in residence of the DAAD’s Berliner Künstlerprogramm. Her compositions have been premiered by renowned ensembles such as the Neue Vocalsolisten and the Ensemble Modern. And her numerous music theatre works have been performed internationally multiple times.
