Artist Talk

The Iraqi-American trumpeter and composer Amir ElSaffar, the Argentina-born, Berlin-based tenor saxophonist and composer Camila Nebbia, and the Iranian clarinettist and Artistic Director of the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück, Shabnam Parvaresh, each bring together musical traditions, personal experiences and contemporary forms of expression in distinctive ways. In this Artist Talk with music journalist Peter Margasak and the festival’s Artistic Director Nadin Deventer, they will offer insights into their artistic practices, discuss the influences that have shaped their work, and reflect on their perspectives on the international jazz and improvised music scene.
