Chamber Orchestra of Europe – Thomas Adès

The Chamber Orchestra of Europe ranks among the best in the world. The Berlin audience - also thanks to the long and continuous commitment of Berliner Festspiele - is closely acquainted with the ensemble’s musical ways and enthusiasm. Musikfest Berlin has now succeeded in bringing the COE together with Thomas Adès, whose achievements as composer, pianist and conductor have seen a remarkably swift development over recent years. Adès himself will conduct the first performance ever of his violin concerto, a piece composed on commission by Berliner Festspiele and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and in close cooperation with soloist Anthony Marwood.
