Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos © Promo
The Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos was founded thirty years ago in order to introduce the traditional instruments of the Bolivian Andes to contemporary music. Since then the orchestra has appeared at festivals around the world performing works by contemporary composers written specially for these instruments. Already an impressive sight due to the shape and arrangement of the instruments, the ensemble present a world of sound redolent of the forces of nature, of wind, sun and water. Numerous leading contemporary composers have been fascinated by the possibilities of these instruments and written for the ensemble, which can seem so contemporary precisely because of their roots in tradition.
