Eine Initiative von radioeins und Berliner Festspiele
Come together
On 3 October under the rubric COME TOGETHER, refugees, volunteers and radioeins listeners will come together in the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in a relaxed atmosphere.
At 15:30 the event will start on the Main Stage: Anja Caspary, the new music director for radioeins, will introduce drum klub, Judith Holofernes, the 17 Hippies and Aziza-A.
A programme will also run in the Upper Foyer: In collaboration with YAAM, hula-hoop and Capoeira courses will be offered to get bodies moving. A Carrera car-track will be on standby for thrilling races, not just for our younger visitors. The band il Civetto will provide dance grooves in the Upper Foyer. Dancing is explicitly encouraged!
In the Lower Foyer initiatives and organisations will give presentations on their work with refugees. Visitors can team up and find out targeted information. Donations are welcome.
The UCS catering firm will donate food for the refugees. Spreequell will provide drinks.
Drum Klub
Sticks fly through the air, water sprays, the beat drives on, sweat, ecstasy, complete exhaustion – that’s the programme when Drum Klub is on the scene. Everyone should pick up a drumstick and play the beat until their clothes are soaked through.
Judith Holofernes
“May I protect all those who need protection / lead those who are finding their way / be a boat, a raft or a bridge for all those who wish to cross water” – Judith Holofernes, singer from Wir sind Helden, pasted these lines from a Buddhist text on her homepage. She did it so as not to despair at the world in the face of the pictures of refugees fleeing; and because it was the most apt and heartfelt comment on the subject.
17 Hippies
Do they really need an introduction? In 2015 they are on their 20th anniversary tour! There were never 17 of them, and they don’t look like hippies either. At their concerts, the audience usually goes into raptures within minutes.
Aziza-A
Turkish-German rapper and singer from Berlin. Radio presenter and actress. A bridge-builder between cultures with her oriental hip-hop style.
Il Civetto
A colourful musical mixture for the world, invented in 2010 in Berlin. They have already given 250 concerts – from impromptu shows in the subway to festivals. Extremely danceable. Spontaneous joy of living, coupled with mysterious exoticism and melancholy. Fun, with influences of swing and groove. Five musicians with guitars, bass, ukulele, clarinet, saxophone and self-made percussion set.
