Soul music! New York-based Ahmed Galla a.k.a. Sinkane’s music is both stylistically nostalgic and ultra-contemporary. He mixes traditional Sudanese music with Eastern African influences that become most apparent in his infectious brass and synth arrangements. West African funk, jazz, krautrock, country-soul, Afrobeat with a European pop architecture – a truly crazy and yet seamless mix of styles: Gallab’s aim is to “create truly universal music”.
