U.S. Girls

From dirty static to delicate flickers: Meghan Remy’s earliest tracks with her one-woman-project U.S. Girls were recorded using the simplest technical tools. The melodies had to grind their way through unhewn layers of sound and collages. Today, Remy’s music sounds far less cluttered and much more subtle. Her lyrics take the position of everywoman and deal with feminist issues like abuse and inequality between the sexes: pop with a message.
