The young Egyptian Hassan dreams of being rich and famous. He applies for the TV casting show “Who is the Hero?” – Ahmed El Attar and his company have created a many-layered piece in 51 short scenes about contemporary Egypt and Western Media. It takes an ironic look at the dreams and realities of its hero, the classroom drill, the Kafkaesque bureaucracy, the religious pressure exerted on young people, and the manipulative influence of television.
