»…but, won’t you make the night a little longer for me?«
Carole King / Gerry Goffin
The actors Katharina Linder and Michael Sideris invite you to join them for a late night Rock’n’Roll session – a homage to Carole King, the American singer and peace activist – one of the most successful songwriters of the rock and roll era. Following her first recordings made during college, amongst others with her friend Paul Simon, King formed a significant song-writing duo with her then husband Gerry Goffin. Songs like »Will You Love Me Tomorrow«, »The Loco-Motion«, »One Fine Day« and »(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman«, written for The Drifters, The Animals, The Monkees, The Byrds, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles and host of other Sixties bands and singers helped to form pop culture and still remain current today. King’s success as a solo artist began in the early Seventies with the album »Tapestry« and continues into the present where this grand dame of the singer-songwriter generation has become a role model for a succession of younger singers from Carly Simon and Tracy Chapman to Mariah Carey, Céline Dion and Norah Jones.
