Fatima Al Qadiri talks to Shumon Basar about the galaxy of ideas and impulses behind her and Transforma’s newly commissioned work for “The New Infinity.” From the recently discovered comet Oumuamua, to Kryptonite, to Islam’s holy Black Stone or David Bowie’s character in the sci-fi feature “The Man Who Fell to Earth”, extraordinary alien life forms shape our understanding of our human existence on earth, and, potentially, extraordinarily needed empathy for people and things that feel alien to us.
