The format Über die Grenzen (Across Borders) creates a platform within the Tanztreffen der Jugend to give space to productions, working methods and practices that reach beyond geographic, cultural, stylistic and genre‑specific boundaries. It brings new impulses into the festival and invites, as well as inspires, an expanded exchange about contemporary young dance production.

Tanztreffen der Jugend 2024
Guest performance by DiDoDance Company, Rom
In the series Zuhause (At Home), the DiDoDance Company explores the important bonds in life. The first part of the series Zuhause sheds light on the formative childhood years in which the walls of home are both protection and limitation. The first supporting bonds and the ambivalence of family dynamics are experienced and internalised.

Tanztreffen der Jugend 2022
Guest performance - A Beninese-German youth cultural exchange between Aktion Tanz e. V. and the Association IMINRIO
As part of an exchange project, fourteen young people from Parakou (Benin) and Berlin (Germany) explored Sustainable Development Goal 10 through dance and theatre. This goal focuses on reducing inequality within and between countries. Drawing on personal experiences and stories, the young dancers approached the realities of inequality and the ways people respond to it. The result is a mosaic of diverse narratives and emotions expressed through movement and spoken word.
