
Claus Pias
Claus Pias is Professor of Media Theory and the History of Media at the Institute for Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media (ICAM) at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. There, is he also Director of the Institute for Advanced Study “Media Cultures of Computer Simulation” (mecs), of the Centre for Digital Cultures (CDC) and of the Digital Cultures Research Lab (DCRL). He was a Fellow at IFK Wien, at IKKM Weimar, at Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, at the Institute for Advanced Study Konstanz, Senior Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Studies “BildEvidenz. History and Aesthetics” at Freie Universität Berlin and Visiting Professor at Princeton University. His main fields of research are media theory, science history of media ideas as well as the history and epistemology of simulation and cybernetics.
