Dominik Köninger
The German baritone Dominik Köninger studied at the opera school in Karlsruhe with Prof. Roland Hermann.
Opera engagements took him to the Hamburg State Opera, the Theater an der Wien, the State Opera Stuttgart, the Volksoper Vienna, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus, the Bavarian State Opera or the New National Theater in Tokyo.
His broad concert repertoire led him to renowned venues like Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, to the Händel Festival Halle, the Glocke / Bremen, the Rheingau Music Festival or to Israel with the Haifa Symphonic Orchestra.
He has worked with such conductors as Bertrand De Billy, Alessandro de Marchi, Christopher Hogwood, Manfred Honneck, Kent Nagano, Antonello Manacorda, Konrad Junghänel, Réné Jacobs, Helmut Rilling, Stefan Soltesz, Andreas Spering and Simone Young, as well as directors such as Barrie Kosky, Robert Carsen, Pierre Audi, Robert Wilson, Philip Stölzl, Harry Kupfer or Tobias Kratzer.
Dominik Köninger has been awarded with First Prizes at the Mozart Festival Competition Würzburg and at the Wigmore Hall Song Competition. Recitals brought him to the Opera de Lille, the BBC Young Artists, the Beethovenfestival Bonn, the Hugo Wolff Akademie Stuttgart or back to the Wigmore Hall, with renowned accompanists such as Daniel Heide, Marcelo Amaral, Eric Schneider or Graham Johnson.
Since the season 2012/13 he has been a member of the Ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin, where he sang roles like Orfeo, Papageno, Count Almaviva, Figaro or Pelléas on stage.
