Markus N. Beeko

Markus N. Beeko is a human rights and democracy expert, civil society activist, and campaign and communications strategist. Most recently Secretary-General of Amnesty International in Germany, he held various leadership roles at Amnesty in Germany and internationally over more than 20 years, including as Chair of the Global Group on Human Rights in the Digital Age. He recently co-founded the democracy research initiative Power for Democracies, which studies civil society initiatives and their impact globally. Markus serves in various advisory and board roles, including on the Advisory Board of the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR).
