Catherine Meyburgh

Catherine Meyburgh has worked in film since 1983. She has worked extensively as editor on documentaries, short films and feature films, including “The Guguletu Seven”, “Portrait of a Young Man Drowning”, “Gugu & Andile”, “Heartlines”, “Sophiatown”, amongst others. She has worked with William Kentridge on his films since 1998. In television she has edited the drama series “Yizo Yizo”, “Zero Tolerance”, “Soul City”. She has also directed documentaries, including “Alan Paton’s Beloved Country”, “Kentridge & Dumas in Conversation”, “Madiba”, “A Hero for All Seasons”. She has collaborated with artists Leora Farber, Georgia Papageorge, Willem Boshoff. Her work has been exhibited in MoMA (New York), The Louvre (Paris), Museum of Modern Art (Tokyo). She has worked in theatre and opera: “Rewind: A Cantata for Voice, Tape & Testimony” by Philip Miller and Gerhard Marx, William Kentridge’s “The Nose” (New York, USA 2010) and “The Magic Flute” (La Monnaie, Brussels 2005).
