Sharon Dodua Otoo is a novelist, editor of the English-language book series Witnessed and curator of Resonanzen – a festival of Black German-language fiction. With the text Herr Gröttrup setzt sich hin Otoo won the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in 2016. In 2020 she delivered the Klagenfurt Literary Lecture Dürfen Schwarze Blumen Malen? which was published by Verlag Johannes Heyn. Her first novel Adas Raum (S. Fischer Verlage, 2021) was shortlisted in 2023 for the “Christine”, the BücherFrauen Literature Prize, and has been translated into several languages. Numerous awards and scholarships followed, and in 2025 she gave the Zurich Poetry Lecture Im Vertrauern. She lives with her family in Berlin.
