WhatWhy Art Ensemble

WhatWhyArt is an ensemble for contemporary music that plays traditional Korean instruments. Its members are outstanding soloists on their instruments. The ensemble moves freely between traditional and contemporary music and pursues the renewal and transformation of tradition through innovative performance concepts. In their work, WhatWhyArt explores questions and concepts that revolve around possibilities for contextualization between tradition and the present. In carefully developed projects, the ensemble utilizes the convergence of Korean and international artists from various genres to create new artistic synergies and add a new dimension to Korean contemporary art.
