
Dominic Barberi, born in England, graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with MMus Perf (Distinction) under Stephen Robertson.
A member of the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden Opera Studio through the Liz Mohn Foundation between 2015 - 2018, his roles there included Pietro in “Simon Boccanegra” and Barone Douphol in “La Traviata” (under the baton of Daniel Barenboim), Tom in “Un Ballo in Maschera”, Sarastro in “Die Zauberflöte” and Colline “La Bohème”. Other highlights include successful role debuts as Alvise Badoero in Ponchielli's “La Giaconda” (Tiroler Landestheater, Innsbruck), Publio in Mozart's “La Clemenza di Tito” and Zuniga in Bizet’s “Carmen” (Staatstheater Braunschweig).
A member of the National Theatre Mannheim's ensemble from 2018 - 2020 his roles there included Colline in “La Bohème”, Alidoro in “La Cenerentola” and Angelotti in “Tosca”.cHe made his French debut as Bottom in a new production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in Montpellier in 2019.
In 2019 Dominic appeared in the Operalia Competition and reached the Semi Final of the Wigmore Hall Song Competition, in 2017 he represented England in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition and was a finalist in the IVC s' Hertogenbosch Competition, receiving the Handel Award.
Dominic has appeared as a guest soloist throughout Europe in amongst others; Handel’s “Messiah”, Bach’s “John Passion”, “Matthew Passion”, Haydn’s “Die Schöpfung”, Mozart’s “Requiem”, Dvořák’s “Stabat Mater”, Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” and a world premiere of Luther Oratorio at the Berlin Philharmonic.
