Eduardo Moguillansky
Eduardo Moguillansky was born in 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated in Composition and Orchestral Conducting in Buenos Aires. He continued his conducting studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Dennis Russell Davies. Postgraduate studies in composition followed with Marco Stroppa and Beat Furrer. He has taken part in seminars with Brian Ferneyhough (Royaumont), Helmut Lachenmann, Georges Aphergis and Chaya Czernowin.
Numerous awards and scholarships: Impuls Kompositionswettbewerb (Graz), Intersonanzen Preis der Stadt Brandenburg, Bärenreiter Kompositionspreis, SWR Orchester Kompositionspreis, selection for the Kompositionsseminar des Ensemble Modern and for the ISCM "World Music Days" 2006, selection for the Gaudeamus Music Week, scholarships from Herrenhaus Edenkoben and the Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, work‐scholarships from the Künstlerhof Schreyahn and the Akademie Schloss Solitude, where he currently is fellow.
He has received commissions from, among others, SWR Radio Sinfonie Orchester Stuttgart, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Klangforum Wien, Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, MaerzMusik, Klangspuren and Autumn in Warsaw. Next projects include new commissions for the Weimarer Frühjarstage für Neue Music (Carin Levine, 2011), a music‐theater piece for the Akademie Schloss Solitude (2012), an ensemble piece for Musica Viva (München, 2012), a music‐theater piece for the Oper Graz and a piece for ensemble and electronics for the Donaeuschinger Musiktage 2012. Performances by Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern, Arditti Quartet, Quatuor Diotima, ensemble mosaik, Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble SurPlus, Nouvel Ensemble Modern, Aleph Gitarrenquartett and the Aeolian Trio (Carin Levine, Peter Veale and Pascal Gallois). Among others, Emilio Pomárico, Sylvain Cambreling, Kasper de Roo, Rolf Gupta, Beat Furrer, Matthias Pintscher and Enno Poppe have conducted his works.
His music has been recorded by the Klangforum Wien (NEOS, KAIROS), by Valentin Garvie and the Ensemble Modern (EMCD 09) and by the Ensemble Aleph (CDMC, Paris).
