Chloé Moglia is a French trapeze aerial artist, choreographer, and dancer, who resists the law of gravity in her poetic acrobatic performances. Born in 1978, Moglia began her training on the trapeze at ENACR (École Nationale des Arts du Cirque de Rosny-sous-Bois) and studied at CNAC (Centre national des arts du cirque) before taking up martial arts. Her current artistic practice is equally influenced by both disciplines. In her aerial productions Moglia plays with the audience’s expectations and creates silent experiential spaces in which the performer and the audience enter into a complex process of exchange. As the founder of the company Rhizome, Moglia has created artistic productions since 2009 which she led her to international theatres and festivals including Théâtre d’Arles, Annecy Passage Festival, Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne, the Metropolis Festival in Copenhagen, Belfast International Art Festival, Les Halles de Schaerbeek, Centre Pompidou Malaga, Athens Epidaurus Festival and cirqu’Aarau.
