Jarita Freydank

Jarita Freydank is a drummer, percussionist, singer, and producer who builds bridges between cultures, eras, and forms of expression through her music. Inspired by Afrofuturism, she blends African rhythms with electronic sounds and rich vocal harmonies.

In 2018, she released her debut Live at Planet Earth EP. Her interactive project Trommelversum invites children into a musical fantasy world, while her YouTube series JAMMIN’ WITH JARITA / BLURUUM SESSION brings together musicians from a wide range of backgrounds.

Jarita has toured with artists such as Judith Holofernes and Astrid North, played in Peter Fox’s drumline, and has also made a name for herself as a theatre musician and composer. She has created music for the Grips Theatre, Theatre an der Parkaue, and Ballhaus Naunynstraße. In addition, she develops soundscapes using loop station, vocals, percussion, and drums for experimental dance performances.
