
Paula Thielecke, born in Berlin-Lichtenberg, is an author and director who reflects on emancipatory processes in all their facets. She encounters the difficulty of real life with aesthetic ease. Her characters transform pain into activity, clarity and lust for life. She focusses on themes of revolutionary theory and praxis, subculture, and queer and decolonial perspectives. Her work is transnationally oriented and also takes place in Ciudad Juárez, where she is active in the campaign for state recognition of femicide and feminicide. Her works have been published in four languages and have received multiple awards and nominations.
