Amandine Beyer
It was in Aix-en-Provence that Amandine Beyer (1974) began studying music at the age of four. Later, she studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel where she studied Baroque violin with Chiara Banchini, among others. In parallel, she took up the fiddle in the medieval ensemble Mala Punica (directed by Pedro Memelsdorff). As a soloist she has worked with orchestras such as ensemble 415, le Concert Français and l’Accademia Montis Regalis, and musicians like Giuliano Carmignola, Chiara Banchini and Pierre Hantaï. In 2000, she received a scholarship from the Juventus Foundation, in 2001, she won first prize in the Antonio Vivaldi Baroque Violin Competition in Turin. Next to her concert career Beyer supervises every year orchestral courses at the Accademia Montis Regalis in Italy. As teacher for baroque violin she has taught a course at Barbaste, in France, among others, and at the Early Music Department at ESMAE, the music faculty of Porto in Portugal.
