Nuria Heyck

Nuria Heyck, born in Berlin in 1987, initially studied Art History and Cultural Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin before transferring to the Berlin University of the Arts, where she studied Costume Design in the class of Florence von Gerkan. She completed her Master’s degree with distinction in 2020 under Lisa Meier. Alongside her studies, she worked as a costume and set designer. In 2019 she was featured as an emerging costume designer in the journal Theater der Zeit.

She spent one year working in the workshops of the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, focusing on the practical and technical realisation of costumes. She has worked as an assistant at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, and on various cinema and television productions. Further film projects took her to Moscow and Athens. She has been responsible for the costume design of several feature films, including projects for Eliza Petkova, Judith Angerbauer and Joscha Douma, as well as for theatre productions in the independent scene.

In 2021 she met Anette Guther, with whom she has since collaborated regularly, including on productions directed by Thomas Arslan (“Verbrannte Erde”) and Thorsten Lensing (“Verrückt nach Trost”).
