Lou Kilger’s work is characterized by an idiosyncratic hybridity between instrumental, intermedia, and performative modes of expression. Kilger’s works include instrumental-electronic, music-theatrical, installation-based, interactive compositions, and video walks that interweave analog and digital worlds. Kilger has received commissions for compositions for the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, ensemble mosaik, Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble Musikfabrik, and many others, as well as for festivals such as the Munich Biennale, the Donaueschingen Music Days, Acht Brücken, Rümlingen Festival, Witten Days for New Chamber Music, and ECLAT. In 2024, Kilger was selected by the German Music Council’s Edition Zeitgenössische Musik for the production of a portrait CD. Kilger has been a professor at the HfM Detmold since 2023.
