Theatertreffen der Jugend 2023

Resistance to social pressure – feminism, rebellion against expectations, responsibility against right-wing social tendencies and the feeling of paralysis in the face of catastrophic events and gloomy prospects for the world: in the productions of the 2023 Theatertreffen der Jugend, the view was thrown back into recent history, all the way to antiquity, in order to reflect the everyday realities of life for the young theatre makers.

The Festivalzeitung (FZ)

The editorial team of the Festivalzeitung (FZ) accompanied the festival events of the Theatertreffen der Jugend. An issue was published daily from 21 to 29 April and was available free of charge at the information desk in the stalls foyer.

About Theatertreffen der Jugend

The Theatertreffen der Jugend sees itself as a platform and place of impulses and exchange, a place of learning where young theater makers can negotiate their working methods and their different themes and attitudes and are encouraged in their individual, artistic forms of expression. The focus is on the invited productions and the encounter and exchange between the young players and their directors in a wide variety of formats.

The Theatertreffen der Jugend is part of the Treffen junge Szene of the Berliner Festspiele and is funded as a national contest by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
