Workshop

Creating Fantastic Beings

Clay Building Workshop for kids

by Kerstin Brätsch in Collaboration with Jana Dohmann

To explore agency in painting and view it as an expanded field, Kerstin Brätsch integrates traditional craft practices such as stained glass, marbling techniques and stucco marmo into her work. Moving from the personal to the collective, she questions subjectivity, authorship and old narratives. As a painter, she often works in collaborative projects with other artists and craftspeople. Together with art educator Jana Dohmann, Kerstin Brätsch invites children aged 6-14 to create fantastic sculptures such as ornaments, animals, mythical creatures, or monsters made of clay. The resulting works will inhabit the Radical Playgrounds exhibition area for the duration of the project.
