Writing at a turbulent time

In this workshop, I am going to talk about the inspirations of “A Concise History of Future China” as well as the social context behind the play. The starting point of writing my play is in a response to the contemporary situation of China and its complicated relationship with Hong Kong. The play was written in London and Brussels. Writing abroad incites inspired me to ask: Is it possible to write a play concerning about local issues with from a global perspective?
