The failure of Eastern European intellectuals after the fall of the Berlin wall – performative lecture

After the end of the iron curtain “backward” Eastern Europe became a target of Western European intellectual dominance. Not only was it supposed to learn the ropes of capitalism but also get rid of "retarded" communist thinking. Eastern European intellectual submissively embraced their role of disciples of the West. What for? What were the consequences?
