Whose homeland?
The joining of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the German Democratic Republic (GDR) resulted in “Germany” as a new home country for a German “we” in 1989/90. Who is included in this “we” and who is not? Which potential does the concept of a home country hold, how can we free it from right-wing resentment and which new alliances grow out of common experiences?
