Swedish soprano Hanna Husáhr will make her role debut as Mimì in “La Bohème” at the Royal Swedish Opera in the 2024/25 season. The previous season, Husáhr added the role of Fiordiligi in “Così fan tutte” to her repertoire, performed at the Norwegian National Opera. The season also included the role of Ava in the revival of “The Promise” by Mats Larsson Gothe at the Royal Swedish Opera, as well as several concert productions.

Hanna Husáhr has been a frequent guest at the Royal Swedish Opera where she has performed roles including Pamina in “Die Zauberflöte”, Gilda in “Rigoletto”, Ava in the world premiere of “The Promise”, Lauretta in “Gianni Schicchi”, Genovieffa in “Suor Angelica” and she won great acclaim for her portrait of the role of Pat Nixon in John Adams’ “Nixon in China”.

Hanna Husáhr made her operatic debut in 2009 as Leïla in Bizet’s “Les pêcheurs de perles” at Folkoperan in Stockholm. Husáhr has been a guest at the Bergen National Opera in roles like Sophie in “Werther”, Helena in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Zerlina in “Don Giovanni”. At the Malmö Opera Husáhr sang Gretel in “Hänsel und Gretel” and Christa in “The Makropulos Case”. Husáhr has sung Romilda in “Serse” at The Royal Opera of Versailles, Barbarina in “Le Nozze di Figaro” and Céphise in “Pygmalion” at Drottningholm Court Theatre. She has appeared in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Latvian National Opera and at Opera på Skäret in Sweden. She has sung Frasquita in “Carmen” at Kilden Opera in Kristiansand, sung Woglinde in “Das Rheingold” at Den Ny Opera in Denmark, Grethe in “Peters Bryllup” at the Musikfestspiele at Potsdam Sanssouci and performed “The Cunning Little Vixen” in Bergen.

Husáhr is often engaged as a concert soloist and her repertoire ranges from early baroque to contemporary. She has sung First Niece in “Peter Grimes” together with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra with concerts in Oslo, Bergen and at the Royal Festival Hall in London, as well as a recording. Husáhr has appeared with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in “Ein Deutsches Requiem” with Daniel Harding in guest concerts in Pisa, Italy and with the soprano solo in Lars-Erik Larsson’s “Förklädd Gud” with the live concerts being streamed on TV, led by Tobias Ringborg. Husáhr has performed Britten’s “Les Illuminations at The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at Konserthuset Stockholm, led by Andrew Manze. Husáhr appeared in the Swedish Television documentary “Christina Nilsson – The Magic Voice” and the following tribute concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra led by Tobias Ringborg, broadcast on the Swedish Television SVT. Husáhr has been on tour with Johann Sebastian Bach’s “St John’s Passion” with Les Musiciens du Louvre under the baton of Marc Minkowski and she sang the role of Xenia in “Boris Godunov” in concert and recording with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, led by Kent Nagano.

Husáhr has worked with conductors such as Stefano Ranzani, Leif Segerstam, Pinchas Steinberg, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Mikko Franck, Jonathan Cohen and Tobias Ringborg. She studied music in London, Gothenburg, and Stockholm before she was a trainee at the Finnish National Opera and she has received numerous awards, including the Christina Nilsson Scholarship and Jussi Björling Award.
