Mila Lipicar

Mila Lipicar first learnt to dance at the Saarland State Theatre in Saarbrücken when she was five years old. From her encounter with ballet to hip hop to the styles of house and waacking/whacking, she developed a deep passion and connection to dance. Today, she feels particularly at home in the urban dance styles of house and waacking and uses them to try out and develop new and authentic forms of expression for self-expression and self-identification. Mila has also taken part in several dance theatre productions in Spain, France and Germany. In 2023, she most recently choreographed the piece “Heimat. Suchend.”, which was performed as part of the 2023 Berlin Festival. The piece addressed questions of home, cultural affiliation and identity – questions that Mila Lipicar addresses in her choreographic work and that accompany her in her dance expression.
