
Francis Seeck, born in 1987 in East Berlin, is a Professor of Social Work with a focus on democracy and human rights education. Francis Seeck studied Cultural Studies at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and European Ethnology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where Seeck also completed a doctorate with a study on queer care work. Francis Seeck’s research and teaching centre on critiques of classism, political education, gender and queer studies, as well as human‑rights‑oriented social work. Since 2009, Seeck has been active in the field of political education and is the author of several books, including Recht auf Trauer (edition assemblage, 2017), Solidarisch gegen Klassismus (UNRAST, 2020), Zugang verwehrt (Atrium Verlag, 2022), Klassismuskritik und Soziale Arbeit (Beltz Juventa, 2024) and Klassismus überwinden (UNRAST, 2024).
