Gala Conference: Canon Today

25 years Texte zur Kunst

With 100 issues and a quarter century of politically and theoretically funded art criticism to TZK’s name, this journal has doubtlessly generated its own canon both in its contributions to the canonization of artists that now are globally acclaimed and to the primary art critical methods and approaches used in this field. At a gala conference at Haus der Berliner Festspiele on 27 November, twenty five writers, artists, and theorists will address the issue of the canon: More specifically, they will fight for what they take to be canonical, with an eye for the critical canonical revisions of the 1960s and ’70s. Presentations will range from short talk to performance.
