Social Muscle Club

Shifting Perspectives

The “Social Muscle Club” relies on 100% INTERACTION: What are you ready to give, what do you need? In an atmosphere ranging between euphoric wedding and chaotic game show, social muscles are communally exercised. Inspired by the Sheffield workers’ club, which saw its main task in entertainment and mutual support, the “Social Muscle Club” started out as a private happening in a Berlin living-room. Nowadays, they cooperate with the South African artists’ collective Alma Martha. Rather than providing machines or courses to enhance your physical fitness, the “Social Muscle Club” offers new forms of getting together and numerous exercises in giving and taking, for effort and involvement, openness and authenticity.
