This story happened when two artists were trying to analyse and tell another story – a story of friendship and incredible creative closeness between two Ukrainian women writers. It’s a story about how creativity becomes meaningful and about how friendship resembles love and love resembles hate.

This event is part of the Herstory Treffen.

Olha Kobylianska, Lesya Ukrainka, Kateryna Vasiukova, Nina Zakharova. Four women. Four Ukrainians. Four talented artists. Two of them highly acclaimed and internationally recognised. Two of them at the beginning of their artistic journeys. Two different times. One shared experience and many shared emotions.
In “Czuję do Ciebie miętę | I Fancy You” Kateryna Vasiukova and Nina Zakharova try to tell the story of two classic Ukrainian writers: Olha Kobylianska and Lesya Ukrainka. Their biographies surprisingly remind them of their own relationship. Nina and Kateryna have known each other for years – they both were actresses of Kharkiv theatres. But their relationship became much closer after the war in Ukraine forced them to flee to the Polish city of Sosnowiec.
“Czuję do Ciebie miętę | I Fancy You” is a personal journey through times, emotions and changing women’s social roles. A moving story of war, of emigration, of friendship and love.
