The public programme consisted of the public reading of the winners as well as a reading of former participants.

Public Programme 2026

The Campus programme is aimed at the participants of the Treffen junger Autor*innen. It is divided into the areas of practice and dialogue with workshops on different literary genres and topics such as the political essay, poetry in the digital, ways into the public sphere and individual and workshop discussions.The programme is only available in German.

Campus 2026

The Forum of the Treffen junger Autor*innen is aimed at teachers. Besides the possibility of collegially exchange it offers practically relevant education dealing with different aspects of creative/literary writing in school.The programme is only available in German.

Forum 2025

In 2026, participants in the Treffen junger Autor*innen will once again take part in the Leipzig Book Fair in March and the international literature festival berlin in September.

Nahaufnahme 2026

This year, the Treffen junger Autor*innen is collaborating with the national competition up-and-coming International Film Festival Hannover. Together, we are focusing on the literary form of the screenplay in panels, readings, and workshops. This year, the film festival is awarding the „Deutschen Nachwuchs-Drehbuchpreis“ for the fifth time since 2019 and coaching students in an annual „drehbuchklasse-deutschland“.

The up-and-coming International Film Festival Hanover is the partner of the 41st Treffen junger Autor*innen.

The Treffen junger Autor*innen is a platform for young writers who use their own words as a form of expression. The participants are selected annually by a jury on the basis of the texts submitted in a nationwide contest.

A total of 13 musical acts — including four bands, two duos and seven solo performers — will come to Berlin from 19 to 24 November as award winners of the 42nd Treffen junge Musikszene. A day later, they will be joined by 21 other talented young people who have been selected by the jury as award winners of the 40th Treffen junger Autor*innen.From 20 to 23 November, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele will host concerts, readings, talks and performances by the prize-winning authors and musicians, open to the public. In addition, a variety of workshops and coaching sessions will provide safe spaces where the young artists can meet, inspire one another and, with professional support from experienced workshop leaders, be encouraged to further develop their personal artistic expression.

The Treffen junger Autor*innen offers young writers a platform on which they can present their texts, thus creating attention for their concerns, topics and points of view. At the same time, the meeting opens up a protected space in which the young artists can meet, inspire each other, and be encouraged to further develop their personal artistic expression through the professional guidance of experienced authors and workshop leaders.

Every year we invite former participants of the Treffen junger Autor*innen for Nahaufnahme. The meeting has been honoring exceptional writing talents between the ages of 11 and 21 for over 30 years. You can experience five participants in Nahaufnahme 2024 on 12 September as part of the international literature festival berlin.

You like to write poems, plays, short stories, slam poetry or experiment with language? Do you want to present your texts to an audience at a reading in Berlin? Would you like to meet other young authors, exchange ideas with professionals, and try out writing workshops?Then apply now for the Treffen junger Autor*innen! The winners will travel to Berlin for a five‑day festival. Another 20 authors will receive a book voucher and a one‑year subscription to a literary magazine.You can submit up to five pages of text or ten poems. It is also possible to submit texts in other languages or multilingual texts. The Treffen junger Autor*innen offers the invited award winners a platform to present their work, drawing attention to the concerns, themes, and perspectives of young writers. At the same time, the meeting provides a protected space where young artists can connect, inspire one another, and, with professional guidance from experienced authors and workshop leaders, be encouraged to further develop their personal artistic expression. In 2026 the Berliner Festspiele celebrate their 75th anniversary. A selection of events programmed throughout the entire year engage take the anniversary as their theme or mark the occasion with works at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, the Gropius Bau, the Philharmonie, on Berlin’s Ringbahn and at other locations in the city. Outstanding international that liberal societies and their cultural institutions face in a new, multipolar world order. artists such as Marina Abramović, Gabriele St&ouml;tzer and Akira Takayama will set the agenda both thematically and aesthetically. 6 and 7 March 2026How does the bourgeois longing for revolt take shape, when the faith in progress and reason is unsettled? Berlin-based artist and director Leila Hekmat explores this question in her newly commissioned performance Roses Rising – The Movement, premiering in the Gropius Bau’s atrium. Moving between concert and ballet, the piece transforms the space into a landscape hovering between bunker, rehearsal room and dreamscape and invites the audience to witness a dinner party unravel into a happening.

19 March to 28 June 2026Working in New York City between the Stonewall uprising of 1969 and the onset of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, Peter Hujar captured a pivotal cultural moment in piercing black-and-white photographs. In the exhibition Persistence of Vision, Hujar’s photographs are interspersed with contemporary works by New York City-based artist Liz Deschenes, opening up an intergenerational dialogue on photography.&nbsp;

Reopening on 15 March 2026Playing, laughing, making noise, letting off steam, doing nothing – all in an exhibition venue! With BAUBAU, the artist Kerstin Br&auml;tsch designed an&nbsp;admission-free play space for kids, where more is allowed than forbidden. On Gropius Bau’s ground floor, colourful wallpapers, structures, objects and open-ended material called “loose parts” configure flexible spaces that are shaped by children’s activities.
