Every year, former participants of the Treffen junger Autor*innen are invited to Nahaufnahme (Close-up).
For over thirty years, the meeting has honoured exceptional writing talent between the ages of 11 and 21. These are selected by a jury from a large number of applications. They often already demonstrate an awareness of the possibilities of language and a love of experimentation, which often leads to the young talents choosing writing as their professional perspective. They work on their first major writing projects and publish their texts in anthologies, magazines and on the Internet.
The chronicle of the Treffen junger Autor*innen lists a number of writers whose texts and books have been published by renowned publishing houses. The aim of the close-up is to support the young authors in their writing and on their way to a professional writing existence.
During the Nahaufnahme, participants work with experienced authors on their own texts and share their personal views and experiences of the writing process. They also have the opportunity to get in touch with publishers and learn about potential ways to enter the literary world.

Nahaufnahme 2026 at the Leipzig Book Fair
As part of the Leipzig Book Fair and in cooperation with the lyrix national competition, three authors from the ninth edition of Nahaufnahme will present their texts at the Long Leipzig Reading Night and at the Deutschlandradio booth.
Miu Dehnel, Thiess Girardet, and Marie Helene Zwicker from the 40th edition of the Treffen junger Autor*innen will take part in a writing workshop with Martina Hefter in Leipzig and will be prepared for their readings by Alice Lovis Planz in a speech and reading training session. There will be a publishing tour to introduce various prose and poetry publishers at the fair and a discussion with Anja Kampmann and Florian Kessler on starting a career in the literary world.

Nahaufnahme 2026 at the international literature festival berlin
The second Nahaufnahme Literature will take place in September as part of the 26th internationalliterature festival berlin. Five young authors will present their texts at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and take part in a two-day writing workshop.
