A place to get messy, build and try things out: SommerBAUBAU is our new free outdoor play space in front of Gropius Bau. Under trees and shade sails, children can experiment and play freely with clay, water and other materials.

Throughout the summer, SommerBAUBAU invites children to play outdoors every day (except Tuesdays). If very high temperatures or rain are forecast, we will move the activity indoors. In that case, our playworkers will welcome you as usual at BAUBAU on the ground floor of Gropius Bau.

SommerBAUBAU was developed by artist Kerstin Brätsch as an open framework for free play. The two shade sails, which poetically embrace the pavilion’s trees, were realised by helloloser in collaboration with Kerstin Brätsch.
