37th Treffen junger Autor*innen

21 remarkable young authors have convinced the jury this year and will take part in the 2022 Treffen junger Autor*innen.

In a joint reading, the winners will present their texts and give an insight into their literary work as well as their thoughts and word worlds.

They speak of the world on a large scale and describe micro-events with a realistic eye for detail that leads to the absurd. They reflect society, ethnic tendencies, right-wing radicalism, tell of home, the search for it and of being a stranger. They are about relationships, dependencies, emotional loss, attempts at connection and processes of detachment. We read about neglected children, queerness, toxic relationships and sex. Stylistically, the authors experiment with language and in different languages. They often combine different text genres - from advertising jingles, chat texts, newspaper articles, diary entries to technical product descriptions. They paint pictures of a thoroughly digitalised world in the near future, which is on the brink of a data crisis due to the scarcity of digital resources and in which people have to ask themselves what will remain of their identity when their cloud is deleted.
