In his new film, Fatih Akin shows the full range of musical (and hence cultural) life in this big city on the borderline between Europe and Asia. This musical bridge over the Bosporus stretches from the classical singer with his long-necked saz to the intellectual outsider who brought rock music to Turkey; from Asian sounds, urban hip-hop and free improvisation to the Canadian singer in search of Turkish classical music.
