Navid Kermani reads from new works
In cooperation with Europe in the Middle East – The Middle East in Europe (EUME)
In both his literary and his academic work, Cologne-based author and orientalist scholar Navid Kermani has time and again focused on the relationship between art and religion. He recently caused a stir when the Neue Zürcher Zeitung published a series of his meditations on Christian art. In this workshop series he reads excerpts from his new book and discusses with A.S. Bruckstein Çoruh the significance of poetry and mysticism in a reading of Islamic texts that is directed against the rising tide of political violence.
