Ukiyo-e literally means “pictures of the floating world” and refers to the famous art-genre of Japanese woodblock prints. Its origin lies in the 17th century and continues to shape the visual representation of Japan in the Western world. Traditionally, they show beautiful women, Kabuki theatre actors, urban life and landscapes. Together, we translate traditional and modern tales into “pictures of the floating time”.
