New use of parking space

As part of the project regular events, this workshop will examine how areas in public space used for pavements, streets, parking, green spaces or playing are currently distributed – in order to jointly develop ideas on how this space could be designed differently.

Public space can be many things: a meeting place, a place to linger, a playground for children, a stage for stories or art, a common living room where people come together, move around, shop, relax or celebrate – a space for everyone. However, we currently use a large part of it to park private cars that are not in use 23 hours a day. Is that actually fair? What would a city with fewer cars look like – and how could that space be used differently?
