David Ụzọchukwu gives a tour through the exhibition Zanele Muholi, highlighting the relations between their self portrait practices and Muholi’s visual activism. Looking at the intricacies of making oneself visible, Ụzọchukwu speaks about shamelessness, vulnerability and (im)permeability.
David Ụzọchukwu is an Austrian and Nigerian artist. Ụzọchukwu’s work has been exhibited at Bozar, Brussels; V&A, London, and Rencontres d’Arles, Arles, among others, and was shortlisted for Prix Pictet in 2021. They currently study Philosophy and Cultural Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
