Bee Intensive is a celebratory lecture performance about bees and honey. Ana Prvački will lead the audience though an overview of bees in history, evolution, mythology and religion. Bee Intensive offers scientific facts, pollination sex, participatory exercises and a honey bath in collaboration with sound artist Başak Günak. Manage Tender will dj at the end and as part of the performance.
About the Artists
Ana Prvački’s work ranges from watercolour to video, performance to mixed reality. She has presented solo projects at numerous international venues including the Gropius Bau, Berlin; de Young Museum, San Francisco; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston; Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Turin, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and group exhibitions such as 13th Gwangju Biennial, the Bangkok Arts Biennale in 2020, 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial, 14th Istanbul Biennial and dOCUMENTA 13.
Başak Günak is a sound artist and composer also internationally known as AH! KOSMOS in the field of electronic music. Her work includes sound art, performance, sound installation, composition for theatre & contemporary dance. She released two solo LPs, Bastards and Beautiful Swamp, with Compost Records & Denovali Records in addition to numerous EPs. Her works have been featured worldwide in art institutions, such as the Barbican, the Gropius Bau, Berlin State Museums, Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Kunstmuseum Basel, Prague Quadrennial and Istanbul International Theatre Festival.
Manage Tender (Diana Baryshevska) is a Ukrainian DJ and artist currently living in Berlin. She started her career three years ago with EBM, Dark Techno and Noise. Now she is focusing on Breakbeat, Experimental Music and Ambient, always playing with sound and genre.
