Guided Tour in Swahili with Anastacia Wairimu Nganga / Ziara za uelekezaji kwa Kiswahili na Anastacia Wairimu Nganga

Anastacia Wairimu Nganga engages with the shared cultural traditions and values and the mutuality of different languages across Africa and Asia. She grew up speaking Swahili and ever since has been fascinated by this language that is rooted along the coastlines of the Indian Ocean.

In this tour, Anastacia Wairimu Nganga will look at the connecting elements of societies shaped by the history of the Swahili language and relate them to the artistic positions in the exhibition.

Anastacia Wairimu Nganga was born in Kenya and has studied African studies. She is one of the initiators of swahili swahili e.V., an initiative that has been promoting a platform for transcultural families and dialogue. She understands biographies as a navigational tool: the past carries the future and the future is carried by the present. Nganga is interested in these realities and how they are traced by the artists of Indigo Waves and Other Stories.
